The Big Four Supermarkets:UK

To a man with an empty stomach  food is god. Irrespective of countrysides ,towns and big cities people need this basic amenity of life.Everyday everybody need vegetables,fruits,groceries to survive.In the developed economy,supermarkets and multi-national groceries were established for the convenience of the mass.Because everybody is busy in their day-today life.
Here retail industry plays an important role.Retailing is the sale of goods and services from the individuals to the end user.There are three categorises of retail industry ,i.e,food,hard goods,soft goods.Hard goods are the durable goods and soft goods are the consumable goods.A supermarket is one of the retailing sector assorted by the differential marketing strategy.Specifically a supermarket is a self-served grocery store where food and household products are assorted in aisles ,which ranges between a traditional grocery shop and a big-box market..A big-box market or a hyper-market is a combination of  a supermarket and a departmental-store.A departmental store sales a variety of consumer goods such as clothing,furniture,housewares and appliances to the public.Lots of supermarkets serve on the basis of EDLP(Everyday Low Price).In the UK,the "Big Four" supermarkets are
Tesco ,Sainsbury's, Asda, Morrisons.The fifth one  is Co-operative Group.Others are Ocardo,Waitrose.
1.TESCO:

Tesco is the retailing leader in the UK and second largest retailer in the world in terms of profit after Walmart and third largest retailer in the world in terms of revenue generated after Walmart and Carrefour.It is established in the year 1919 by Jack Cohen in London.It's head-quarter is in Cheshunt,London.It is a British multi-national grocery,i.e ,it is functioning outside the UK.It's market share is 30.1%.
2.SAINSBURY'S:



 Sainsbury's is the second largest supermarket in the UK,with a market share of 16.6%.In the year 1869,it was founded by John James Sainsbury's and his wife Mary Ann Sainsbury's in London.It's head-quarter is in Holborn.It reached it's zenith during the Victorian era.In 1922,it was leading in the self-serving retailing industry.1n the year 1995,Tesco superseded Sainsbury's and was placed in the top position.In the year 2013,ASDA was replaced Sainbury's,which was in second position ,in the year 2003.
3.ASDA:


ASDA is the British super market chain which became a subsidiary of global retail leader and American retailer Walmart in the year1999.It is in the third position in the UK.It has market share of 16.4%.It merchandises in food,clothing,toys,financial services.It's head-quarter is at Leeds,England.It was established in the year 1949.
4.MORRISONS:


Morrisons is the smallest share holder of the'Big Four' supermarkets in the UK.It's headquarter is in Bradford,England.It was established in the year 1899 by William Morrisons.It market share was 11.3% in Oct,2013.It had it's edifice from an egg and butter stall.

People love to purchase from these grocery stores,by visiting there in person.Some of them do the online shopping.The employees working in these malls do  commendable jobs.Their service is awesome.They wear uniforms while serving.Their special vehicles serve consumers for home delivery of products.They are very conscious about the quality of the product to maximize the consumer's satisfaction.Quality has reached it's saturation in Sainsbury's while it's price is relatively higher than the rest.On the contrary,ASDA has cheapest price with respect to the other supermarkets.
